Most of the time my job is pretty straightforward: Take a couple in love and photograph them in a way that communicates as much of their emotion as a tiny little frame can handle. Most people in love look happy, but occasionally it is kind of fun to shake things up a bit, and do something a little different. Such was the goal when on an early summer night around a campfire in my backyard I asked my friend Jason if he and his wife, Sherry, would be game for playing model for the day. Lucky for me, the answer was yes!
We decided to do a retro style shoot inspired by life in the 50's and early 60's. I had so much fun trying out different locations and elements and being a little more hands on than I normally am. I have to hand it to Sherry, not many people can pull off this level of fabulousness. Let alone pregnant! With twins!
Thank you so much Sherry and Jason for being such wonderful models, putting so much thought and energy into choosing a fun wardrobe and bearing with me as I played director for the day. Below are some of my favorite images from the shoot.
